1. The Bunk Type have rails or bunks that are generally covered with carpet. The boat can be slid on or off from the bunks. These trailers are suitable for steep launching. 2. Roller Type or roll on trailers use rubber covered or plastic rollers. They can be used on ramps that are not steep enough for bunk type trailers. Prices for these types are usually higher than for bunk types. 3. Flatbed trailers are usually not suitable for launching ramps. If you launch your boat often, a roller type might be better. Once you have chosen the type, you need to select the right size. Weight capacity and boat length determine the size. Tandem axle trailers have two or three axles. Generally, tandems can carry more load than a single axle type. They also provide a smoother ride.
