A Rapala Fishing Lure imitates the Action of a wounded Minnow
In 1936 the Finnish fisherman Rapala created the first Rapala fishing lure carved from cork. The lure imitated the action of a wounded minnow. Each lure is tested to make sure it swims like a wounded minnow. All lures are hand tuned and tank tested. About 20 million Rapala lures are sold every year. In general, a lure is a fishing item that resembles fish prey. The lure has a hook or several hooks to catch fish. The lure isattached to the end of a fishing line. There are many types available: jig, wobbler, spinner, fly lures, worms, etc. Rapala makes a large variety for freshwater, saltwater, ice fishing and top to bottom lures. They can be used for bass, walleye, muskie, tarpon, red fish, salmon and other fish.
