Impact resistant
Pelican Canoes

Pelican was founded in 1968. It now makes over 50 models of Pelican canoes and boats. The company works hard to produce high quality products at affordable prices. It uses RAM X material, which is a strong, impact resistant material.

Pelican builds canoes, kayaks, pedal boats and fishing boats. Canoes are classified into three categories.

1. Family Leisure canoes offer safety and stability. The canoes are good for beginners, because they are easy to maneuver. The Pelican 15.5 model is 15 feet, 6 inches long and costs about $300-440. The Explorer is 14 feet, 6 inches long and features a central built in cooler seat and two folding seats. It also has vertical fishing rod holders and bow & stern integrated carrying handles.

2. Recreational canoes are lightweight and ideal for the average paddlers. They are good for solo or tandem paddling. The Navigator model is 13 feet, 6 inches long. It is lightweight and very maneuverable.

3. Sport Recreational canoes are great for fishing and hunting. The canoes feature a large load capacity and great comfort. The Bayou model is 16 feet, 3 inches long and extremely stable. It has a 950 lb carrying capacity. It is 43" wide and has a built in motor mount on the transcom. Other features include 3 molded bench seats, vertical fishing rod holders and 53 cubic feet of cargo space. Price is about $700.
