Beginners should use
Worms for live Bait Fishing

Fish have a tendency to take live bait deep into their body. A deeply hooked fish is difficult to release. Often undersized fish get badly injured and don't survive. That is the reason, why some streams are restricted to artificial lures.

The most common bait are worms. Fishing with worms is easy and the worms are easy to get. For most beginning anglers, the bobber method is easy to use. The bobber lets you see, if a bite occurred. The bobber is pulled under the surface when a fish bites the bait.

If you want bottom fishing with worms, you can use a sinker. Here the hook is attached above the sinker.

Worms are attached to the hook in such a way that they can wiggle. They should be attached lightly to the hook to get the best action. The disadvantage is that the worm is easily snapped off the hook by the fish and you lose some bait.

Other types of bait, include minnows, nymphs, grasshoppers, crickets, crayfish and frogs.
