Warm and waterproof
Ice Fishing Gloves

Ice fishing gloves are available in a wide range of prices from about $12-50. The palm of the gloves is enhanced with deerskin leather that remains soft even in very cold weather. The outer shell usually is nylon and the gloves have an adjustable strap.

Warm clothing is important for ice fishing. In addition to gloves, good warm, waterproof boots can make the difference between a successful outing and an outing cut short, because of cold feet. Another consideration are socks to keep your toes from freezing. A heavy duty pair of wool socks will keep your feet warm.

It is best to use several layers of clothing. You can always take off a layer of clothing, if you get to warm. Use long underwear and waterproof coveralls to cover your legs. Sweaters and wool shirts will keep your body warm. Coats with fabrics that will keep the wind and snow away from the body are recommended. A good hat that keeps your head warm is also advisable. You could wear a ski mask under your hat for extra protection.
