Ice Fishing Clothing
will keep you warm

Ice fishing clothing should keep you warm and dry. A good way to dress for cold weather is to dress in layers. If you get too warm, you can always take a layer off.

Wear underwear with sweat wicking material undershirts, pants and gloves. Carry an extra pair of liners for boots and mittens.

The second layer should keep you warm. Down jackets and wool mittens with a windbreaker fabric are good. A face mask is great when it is windy. Ear protection is also recommended. If you wear fleece to keep you warm, you should have a windbreaker as the final layer.

Boots are very important. They should be waterproof and well insulated. A good pair of boots cost about $150. Boot insulators cost about $45.

A layer pant cost about $25-45. It should be made of wicking yarn to keep you dry and comfortable. A base layer top costs about $20-45.

A windproof and waterproof parka costs about $150. Waterproof and windproof gloves cost about $30.

Ice fishing gloves are available in a wide range of prices from about $12-50. The palm of the gloves is enhanced with deerskin leather that remains soft even in very cold weather. The outer shell usually is nylon and the gloves have an adjustable strap.
