Fishing Waders
to keep you dry and warm

For fly fishing, hip boots or chest fishing waders are needed to keep you dry and warm. Most of the time when fishing in small streams, you will only use hip boots.

For fishing in larger streams or rivers you will need waders. The boots or waders should have felt on their bottoms for safety. In some cases, metal cleats might be necessary. If the stream or river bottom is sandy or has small stones, regular rubber bottoms will be sufficient.

A small boat or canoe would be more convenient. It will allow you to cover a larger area of water.

On cold days, a fly fishing wading jacket will keep you warm and dry. To protect your eyes, you should use eye glasses. On sunny days use sunglasses, which let you see deeper in the water. A fly fishing vest to store all of your gear will be convenient.
