Check out a
potential Fishing Spot

To find a good fishing spot requires experience. If you are a beginner to fishing, you can ask a fisherman to share his favorite spots or asked a person in the tackle store for some places to fish.

Get a list of several potential fishing places and check them out. Some things to check:

  • Can the location be reached by car? Can the car be parked safely?
  • How many people are fishing at the location? You don't want to see a big crowd.
  • If you find a good spot, check out what equipment the anglers are using. Watch other anglers and take note of the fish they catch. What kind of rod and reel are they using and what type of bait or lures are working?

Another good way to find a fishing location is to find fishermen. If you are driving by a location and see anglers, stop and ask what type of fish they are catching and what type of equipment they are using.
