Great Variety
of Fishing Bobbers

Fishing bobbers used to be made of cork or wood, but today, they are mostly made from plastic. Bobbers hold the bait a certain distance from the bottom and signal when a fish bites. Bobbers attach to the line with a clip.

There is a great variety of bobbers available in different sizes, shapes and colors. Most of the bobbers are round. Round bobbers float high and are easy to see, but they offer great resistance to the fish. Therefore, it might be better to use small bobbers. Most round bobbers are red and white.

Sliding or cylindrical bobbers are tapered to reduce air and water resistance. They are better for casting and don't spook the fish as much as round bobbers. They also interfere less when fighting a fish. Some bobbers can be filled with water to improve casting distance.
