Most boat trailers are measured by boat length and weight capacity. To calculate the capacity of your boat, you need to add the weight of accessories to your basic boat weight. Accessories include motor, anchor and chain, lines, cushions and other options not included in the base weight of the boat. Also add gasoline, spare parts, food and beverages. You might want to add about 10% as a safety factor.
