When choosing a paddle, you need to consider the type of paddling you will be doing. Main considerations are durability, comfort and cost.

Carlisle touring paddles range in price from about $99-273. Material for the higher priced models is a carbon/fiberglass composite. Lower priced models are made of fiberglass or nylon.

Carlisle Enchantment carbon kayak paddle Recreational models have a nylon or polypropylene blade and an aluminum shaft. Price for recreational models is about $38-75. The Day Tripper is a great model for beginners. It has a polypropylene blade and an aluminum shaft. Price is about $40.

The touring model Enchantment Carbon has a list price of $273. Material for the blade and shaft is a combination of carbon/fiberglass. Magic Nylon is a recreational model with a nylon blade and an aluminum shaft. List price is $75.
