A Bass Boat for big

A bass boat is popular for big lake fishing. The boat is not limited to bass fishing only. Other fish that can be found in still waters like catfish, lake trout and walleyes are caught using this type of boat.



The boat is usually 16-18 feet long and is designed for 2 or 3 people. It is a flat bottom boat that is generally powered by an outboard motor between 50-125 HP. Features usually include carpeted floors and upholstered seats. Other optional features are an electric trolling motor, a rubber coated anchor and a sonar unit.

Material is usually aluminum or fiberglass. Aluminum boats are cheaper and are also more durable. Fiberglass makes it easy to design efficient shapes. Fiberglass is also less noisy than aluminum.

These boats are expensive. Unless you get a lot usage out of them, they are probably not beneficial.

You might consider a mini bass fishing boat that costs about $400. It is 8 foot long, has two swiveling seats, built in motor mounts and bait compartments.
