Successful Bait Fishing

Bait fishing can be an effective method of fishing. It has advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages
1. The taste and smell appeals to fish. This is one reason why fishing with bait is successful in cloudy water.
2. Live bait provides a natural action that artificial lures cannot provide.
3. It is the food the fish eat.
4. It makes the fish easier to hook.

Disadvantages
1. It takes time to get live bait. It reduces the fishing time. Some anglers actually like collecting live bait, because they consider it as part of fishing.
2. It can be more expensive than artificial lures. It is used only once, while artificial lures can be used many times.
3. Live bait has to be stored properly. If it is frozen, it must be defrosted slowly.

The best way to get started with live bait is to begin with worms, which can be found easily.
